Marsa Alam International Airport
Since its grand opening in 2003, Marsa Alam International Airport has become the main gateway to the blossoming holiday resorts of the southern Red Sea. Receiving flights from every corner of the world - including Gatwick and Manchester in the UK - the airport welcomed almost a million travellers through its gates in 2009, a figure set to soar with the continued growth of the Marsa Alam resort.
The airport has received positive reviews from the growing number of European travellers keen to visit the relatively tranquil resorts nearby. The airport's facilities are seen as good and improving all the time, with full air-conditioning and a number of restaurants, duty-free shops and other retail outlets located on the premises.
